Under drive pulley ????
Yup I am a newbee to this forum so hope I am in the write place for this question ! Picked up a 2000 gt this weekend guy told my son it had a bad cluch and a dead bat . So the price was good for the described problems long story short towed it home put a bat in turned the key verroom started and sounded great. looked down at the motor the belts were not moving !!!!! Shut it down at this point sure there was smoke coming from my ears . Put my hand on the crank pulley and it was wobbling (thought the crank snapped for a moment) removed crank bold removed the billet under drive pulley got a smaller bolt to reinstall $2.50 and sweet !!!!! The problem know is getting a stock water pump pulley . Can't find one on line. ford discontinued it . Can I just get a longer belt or will I burn up the water pump ? Or make too much water pressure in the system ? Help please ? Thanks guys

theres theory that with under drive pulleys you could run into over heating but I have yet seen anyone run into these problems. I have seen where 03-04 cobras that were tracked on a road course and had problems with over spinning their water pumps on a factory pulley. Granted they were running high rpms constantly. They also run the same pump/pulley set up as the gt's.
