Cool V6 guages in my 02 GT?

Hey guys, so I've decided to stop lurking and join. I'd like to get some feedback on something that's always been a little odd.

Here's my car to start with:
02 mineral grey gt 5 speed
01 Cobra irs swap
3.55 gears
10 anniversary cobra brake setup and brembo rotors all around
flowmaster 44 cobra catback, stock mid
bbk shorty headers
CAI
came tuned and with a bama tuner
Eibach suspension and 2" drop up front, 1.8" in the rear
maximum motorsports camber castor setup
and a few appearance modes

aaand v6 guages

I bought this 02 GT a little over a year ago with 96k miles on an 03 4.6 engine swap. (VIN was a V8 model, clean title and all), but it came with v6 guages, the guy said it those came with the engine when he bought it, I used to have an 01 v6 and the guages are exact, they top out at 120 (pin out at ~130) and redline at 5 1/4 instead of the gt's 150 and ~5 3/4 rpm. I tried looking around but it seems i'm alone in this? would v6 guages work normally with a v8? its calibrated correctly and all (my friend with a gt drove beside me to compare). any input would be awesome. and I obviously know if I have a V8 under the hood lol.

Tldr: bought a gt, has v6 guages, huh? (yes its a gt)

They aren't just a direct swap. In fact, it's kind of a pain to deal with unless you know what you're doing. The inverse question comes up all the time in the V6 section ("Can I put GT/Cobra gauges in my V6?")

With all the swapping, are you sure a VIN wasn't swapped as well?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't. the chassis had ~120k miles on the swap, all gt, bumper, stock gt deluxe interior, front fogs, gt side/hood scoops. idk how how but it's running v6 guages on a GT platform, i'm no too saavy when it comes to this kind of stuff but maybe the engine was somehow "synced"(not the word, i know) to the guage cluster, again i asked him about it and he said the cluster came with the engine for the swap and it runs perfectly. it seems like the previous car/engine owner knew what they were doing then, i don't mind. no reason to go over 130 and it discourages the full red-line a bit.

I know it's there though.
