Default Cats removal?

Over the winter I installed a Mac catback, but now I'm looking to liven up the sound bit more. I'm sorta strapped for cash so I was thinking of just cutting out the cats and replace the pipe sections. Opinions on this? Technically, wouldn't that be the same as buying an H pipe?

If you can do it yourself, do it. Do a quick google search and there's a great write up on how to build your own mil eliminators. About $5 if you have a solder gun.

Most after market pipes are a larger diameter. But getting rid of the cats probably does make the biggest difference.
