Hey guys,

Been a long time since I've been on this forum. I currently own an '03 V6 with some body damage and have a family friend who came upon an '01 GT 4.6L. He paid 2 grand for it as a project car and then bought a house and can't afford to pay to fix it up.

The car is an '01, the body has 170k on it but it has a used motor which is estimated to be around 70k miles. Transmission feels nice, motor seems strong, a/c's cold, radio's good. Only problem is body damage. The driver rear quarter panel took a hit, got some bondo, and now the paint's cracking (I know this whole part has to be cut & replaced to fix the problem). Would need a full paint job as well. He's willing to part with the car for what he paid (2000). Do you guys think this would be a good project car? He's willing to help me as he's a handy guy, but he's not a mechanic. Would also try to sell my current V6 if I picked up the GT. Any advice would help.
