Default 4r70w compatibility

hey guys im new to this sight and this hole forum thing. I was wondering where I could get some info on 4r70w compatibility because my transmission just blew all the drive clutch packs out and I found a recently rebuilt one with redline clutch packs, a reverse manual valve body for a mustang and a billet torque converter. the only issue is that it is out of an f150 with the wrong tail shaft. I would switch my tail shaft from the garbage trans to this one if I knew that it would be a direct fit. ive talked to a gentleman at bauhman and he said that all the 4r70w are the same the only difference is application and tail shaft ie for a 4x4 or a mustang. my main concern is the valve body because I am not sure if my current linkage would be compatible with the valve body even though the owner has stated that it was in a floor shift set up.any help wold be greatly appreciated so I can get my car back on the road as soon as possible. thank you and sorry for the novel I just wrote
