Power Question - S/C'd

Hey guys quick question...

ive got a 04 Roush 440A, completely stock aside from exhaust and COPs and also a CAI, as well as 4.10's

My exhaust is LT's, with O/R H Pipe, and flowmasters.

When I got the car tuned, I put down 348rwhp, and 326 TQ. Do these numbers seem a little low to anyone? I felt like I should have more torque. I'm running the stock pulley, pushing 8 lbs of boost.

Maybe im just crazy and paranoid something is wrong. Any suggestions?

The thing is, all dynos read differently. Some are conservative, some are optimistic. You can trick the dyno to print out whatever hp number you want to see. Dynos are best used as a tuning tool, not a number generator for bragging rights.

I put a saleen supercharger in mine and I got 384 hp and 358 tq... I think my torque is too low too but it's still fun to drive. At the end of the day it only matters if you win, not your numbers.

8psi on a 2v isnt really gonna produce alot of power on a stock motor, what kind of trans?

JeffBall 07-27-2014 09:19 AM

Sorry im just getting back to ya guys... been busy... Its the stock TR-3650 Trans. 5 speed.

I hit 420/415 @ 8lbs on a stock motor (just forged).....through an auto :icon_shrug:

Define stock motor, a stovk 2v on 8psi isnt making 420rwhp especially througj an auto. What compression is this "stock" forged 2v.

9.5

Forged bottom end, bone stock top end (TB to heads)

It definatly has to be pushing more than 8psi especially with an auto to make those numbers

No way in Hell! Calling BS!

I had my eyes on the boost gauge the entire time, never saw anything over 8lbs....

I will say that those runs were made on MS109

uberstang1 08-01-2014 12:58 PM

Your boost gauge is off, a stock setup on 8psi through an auto 2v would be in the ballpark of 330-340rwhp

O wait on race gas? makes more sense cause as said on pump gas your not over 350rwhp. Might want to mention stuff like that from the beginning. Also that power curve is the choppiest looking thing ive seen, who the hell tuned that car.

Nightfire 08-01-2014 06:05 PM

It made 396/405 on 91 pump. My boost gauge works fine. The graph looks like that because it was having crazy belt slip. 3.00 pulley with stock rib and tension. Pullied up to 3.25 and its seeing 16psi now.

Damn 420 to the wheels @ 8 psi. Even on race gas is that possible???

Apparently not according to this site. I post on SVTperformance, Stangnet, and the Corral....this is the only site that seems to have a problem with my numbers.

Just a quick copy of someone sig on Stangnet:

I know you got a D1 instead of a P1. But I am making 2 more lbs of boost and about 30 less rwhp and 20 less ft/lbs of torque. GFDIt!!!!!
He has a P1, Ive got a D1 and we both hit roughly the same numbers (with me on 91). I hit 396/405 on 91. Pretty close to his.
