Default alternator issues

Ok so recently i had the battery light flicker on for a second or two then go off just at random and for seemingly no reason. Checked voltage unloaded from alternator and it was like 13.1V which was kinda weak. Had parts store use their checker and it said diode stuck open.

So i decided to replace it. Drove fine for a week or two and just today the light flickered again! Got out wiggled the wires on batt and alternator and theywere snug. Drove back home and it never did it. Connections look clean, looks may be decieving?? Any guesses?

Check the main power connection on the side of the engine bay fuse block, same symptoms happen when that becomes loose.

Ok.. can you clarify bc i am a little confused. Thewires leading into the fuse box can become loose? Or a main connection near there? Any pics from google you can find to show me what you mean? I would REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP!!!

To anyone that has stumbled across this same issue i have found it. It was indeed a defective alternator from advanced. Took it back and got a replacement, no more battery light!

I was going to chime in that I had that same issue on my 00 V6. Would only happen on WOT. Took it to AutoZone and had them bench test it. Three out of five tests showed it bad so I replaced it. No more flickering battery light.
