h pipe or x pipe?

Default h pipe or x pipe?



what is the difference between the two types of exhaust pipes? and will you produce more HP without the cats?</P>

More hp will reach the ground without the cats only due to less restriction of the flow of exhaust gases, letting your engine breathe better..</P>

Default h pipe or x pipe?

One cross over pipe looks like an H and requires the exhaust pulses to do 2 90* turns to get into the other side, where as the other looks like an X and requires it to do a single 45* turn.

Go with an X pipe and no cats topped off with Magnaflow mufflers for the most power to the ground. X pipes usually out-perform open headers<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

You'll get a better sound out of the X, and also more RWHP.</P>

Better sound with anx I disagree. If you want it to sound like an indy car go with an x if you want it to sound like a musclecar go with an h-pipe with 2 chamber flowmasters.

X pipes are better it keeps the exhaust movin in a more smooth way, the x pipe uses 45 degree bends. The H-pipe uses 90 degree bends.
