Default Rpm problems

Hi guys i have a 2000 Mustang GT and i have some rpm problems. Whenever Im driving and about to make a stop, the rpms suddendly drop to the point that it turns off. I took it to firestone and they told me it was a gas leak on a pcv hose on the throttle body, the weirdest thing is that it didn't use to do that before i had it. Before all these i had some problems with a p0171 code. Could you all tell me what to check or inspect for? Thank you

check in the section for your model but if you ask me it sounds like a tps sensor or fuel filter needs to be changed

but in order to be sure go to the 96-04 section of the forum

its neither one of these

you have a 171 code, so you have a lean code. which indicates a vacuum leak. Which if severe enough will cause stalling issues. Get the leak resolved, and have the KAM reset so your fuel tables go back to normal
