Rear tie rod??? I dont think it should have one. Anyways, i bought a 00 gt 5spd that had 148k when i got it. I paid 4500 for it. Needed tires immediately, got nittos for $620 with an alignment. Ran great. Drove it for a year and 12k miles. Had to replace an idler pulley, wheel bearing, and tie rods, and a rear brake caliper. The brake caliper was my fault in a way, accidently drove for 15 miles with the e brake on just barely because something got under the handle and held it enough to put a drag on it. But not enough for the light to come on. Tie rods probably died after multiple thrashings on curvey roads.. and considering i ran the thing about 50 times at the local 1/8th mile strip and a few races in mexico , id say the car held up great to the amount of abuse i gave it. Sold it to buy my buddy's 03 gt that has almost full bolt ons already on it. Anyways, the new edge rocks, i drove a 2012 5.0 6spd. And i STILL think the edge is a bigger joy to drive despite being slower.

Still looking for a stang.
wow, glad you did your homework--- good luck, you'll find one

Forgive me. The picture I took of the inspection sheet was really blurry, and it was late when I got home. Wasn't very alert. "Tie rods: PASS OUTER SLIGHT PLAY" was the quote on the sheet, thinking now I realize how dumb what I said sounds. Sorry guys!

My old work truck (94 chevy ) had about 400,000 on it when my company sold it to my brother inlaw who still drives it everyday.. we had a fleet of chevy's HD2500 from 1988 to 2000 that all did around the same on mileage with 5.7 L gas engines and mine was replace with a 2011 HD 2500 6.0L to which I have 40,000 on it in 2 years time as it was an year or two older model sold as new.

160,000 really ain't much to me on a V8 ..

I agree, 160k is nothing on these motor. My 99 F-150 has 295k, 96T-bird 265k, 01 GT 180k. A 16 year old car with about 10k a year is not bad. Good luck with your search.
