Default POP. No power steering, bad fluid leak?

So last night as I was pulling into the parking lot where I work, I went to shift into reverse where I met a little resistance. I gave it a little shove and it kind of popped into reverse and I heard another pop from inside the engine bay. So as I let out the clutch I notice my steering wheel isn't turning. I honestly thought I stalled the car until I realized that nothing turned off. So after forcing the wheel to play along (and almost learning the hard way that power brakes share the power steering line), I managed to get it into a spot and sure enough, there was a huge puddle in the parking lot and snail trailing to my car. Checked my PS reservoir and its bone dry.

I managed to find the leak underneath before I had to go in and got some pictures.

Can anyone give me any thoughts on what is leaking? Is this an easy fix, or how much would it cost to take it to a local mechanic?

the leak is on the drivers side.

It is a saturday, most people aren't on forums... most lol
I am not sure how the power steering and brakes are connected, if they share fluid then you may have a damaged brake line (damaged by shifting?)
If they are connected via vacuum lines then one of those may be off, but since fluid is on the ground I doubt it.
With the fluid spill it may have been just a bad reservoir, or a hose leaked or broke, or the actual power steering mechanism is leaking. for the reservoir to be completely empty it must have been a fairly large leak, you could feel around and see where it is exactly leaking from and go from there.

I really can't help much beyond that, and I know it sucks having the car broken in a random parking lot, so my best advice is to possibly call a tow truck if you really need it fixed soon. Do you have any mechanic friends nearby?

They share fluid and the pump through the hydro boost system. Ford had to do this because there was no room for a vacuum brake booster with the small engine bay.
