Default HID Removal

Whoever owned the car before me put HIDs in the stock housings. Its extremely ugly and ruins an otherwise awesome car at night. They are like, blue blue and don't light up the road worth a sheet. They do have yellow brights, but those aren't any better.

My question is, how hard should something like this be to remove and return to stock? I don't have my car with me at the moment but I can check this weekend for brand/model #. I do remember seeing like a 2.5"x2.5"x3/4" box behind each headlight. I can solder new wires in no problem if all that's involved is cutting that crap out.

I'm not looking to replace these HIDs with real HIDs and projectors housings or anything. I just want it back to stock really. Unless stock lighting is horrible...
