2000 gt trans issue
Hello all,
Long story short..... I recently installed a new engine in my 2000 mustang and after start up I drove the car about a 1/2 mile and put it in park. When I got back in the car I no longer had any forward gears. I didn't shut it off and I have a feeling it's something very simple. I added fluid and that hasn't helped. I was in a hurry at the end of this install and in the process the trans dipstick did not get the bolt put in that keeps it in place. Would it be possible that the dipstick is getting pushed out and therefor loosing pressure? Just grasping straws here.... I am hopeful that people will throw their opinions in to see what I messed up or missed.
The specs on the car;
MMR shortblock
Re built heads
ARP head studs
Saleen Supercharger
Automatic trans( dang)
Thanks for ANY assistance

I don't think that the dipstick has anything to do with fluid pressure.
Sounds like low fluid,but if you have ruled that out,I suppose that the next easiest,or only easy thing,is to check the shifter linkage.Other than that,something must be stuck internally? Gunk made it's way back from the trans cooler? Converter to flywheel bolts came out? I'm grasping too.

Thank u for the replies. I was also wondering if maybe I didn't "clock" the torque converter properly? Could that be possible?
Also.... If gunk did get stuck in there somewhere is there a thread anywhere about flushing the trans? Thanks again
