4.6 to 5.4?

Ok pay attention, I have already said this once.
Ford used the same heads on the 4.6 2v's as the 5.4 2v's.
The only time you need the 5.4 adapter is when you are using the 5.4 short block in your car.
As for valve covers, all npi heads and pi romeo heads had the 11 bolt valve covers while the pi Windsor heads had the 13/14 bolt valve covers.
The timing chains are the same.

I am paying attention School and thanks for the info. Just woke up yesterday when I read your reply and it seemed you didn't have a clear picture on what I was talking about when you mentioned I had npi heads. Which is why I asked again thinking maybe you were talking about something else. Kind of a check/recheck. So if I misunderstood you, That's why I backtracked.
My anger toward the car is because I have already done one PI swap and it turned out the cam was scouring on the passenger side head. It was clicking like crazy. I took the motor apart several times trying to chase down the noise. There were several videos and posts about this ticking with dumbfounded audiences that had no idea what it was. Eventually the oil pressure started dropping and one night while driving home, the engine just shut down. It wasn't a seize luckily, but it brought me to a conclusion after speaking to a few mechanics about the noise, oil pressure and the engine shut down. They mentioned it could have been a main bearing, or a cam bearing. Which made me think, "hmm, well it didn't make the noise until after the head swap", and that was when the new symptoms showed up along with the bottom end still looking fine when we pulled the motor out.
I got the heads off craigslist and always thought the guy's story was kind of shady on why he was selling them. This is why I picked up the current heads. We already P&P'd them, valve job, rebuilt and ready to boogy. So there's the reason for the recheck. I am just expecting more of a domino effect while asking myself, "what's gonna happen next?"
