Default bad/clogged egr?

So I have a 2002 mustang gt, motor is all stock all it has done is muffler delete. I was driving home last night and all of a sudden the car feels like it is loading up when I give it alot of gas. The car is idleing fine, starts fine. Only time it feels odd is when I'm trying to get on it or if I am just casually cruising/bogging the car. Today the check engine light started blinking for a minute then stayed on. Obviously I should check the codes bit don't have a code reader or the money to check right now. Any ideas on where I should start troubleshooting my self? Maybe a clogged egr?

Go to your local auto parts store, they can retrieve the codes from your car. I have never had one charge me to do this.
