Hey guys I'm trying to remove my starter on my 98 mustang gt. I can't get to the top bolt to release it. What ways have you guys done to get to the top bolt?

I took the starter off my 96 GT yesterday. I used in this order: short 13mm socket, 2" 1/4" extension, 6" 1/4" extension, 3" 3/8" extension, and 6" 3/8" extension. I went in just under the exhaust manifold. Took my left hand and reached up over the exhaust pipe and above the trans side of to guide the socket on the bolt. Took me about 30 mins to get the top bolt out. Hope this helps.

When I put my starter back on, I'm not going to install the top bolt. Two bolts hold it with no issues. Did this on my Cobra and had no issues.
