I own a 2001 Mustang GT with an auto trans. Through gears 1, 2, and 3 the car drives fine. It also drives fine in 4th but it makes a weird noise. If I'm driving at 60mph in 4th and decide to give it gas, it makes a terrible crackling noise under the car as if someone is crumpling a bag of chips. I don't know what it is? Also, my O/D off randomly flashes which means it's trying to tell me there's some kind of trans problem... Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

if the od light is flashing, then there is a failure in the trans and it is setting a code, scan the codes and u will have a place to start diagnosis
