Recently purchased a 96 cobra. Odometer and tach not working. Tach would sometimes spin all the way around and sit pegged and occasionally go backwards when I revved it up. Searched the forums found the odometer gear fix (thanks to all posting on that subject). I found almost nothing on the tach even though I had found some people with same problem, but no fixes. Thought I would post my results. While the cluster was out, I used a very small flat screwdriver and bent all the connectors on the plugs in the dash slightly outward to improve contact. After I had the tach and speedo out to change the gears for odometer, I did the same to the contacts in the cluster case where the tach prongs push into it. Tach and odometer both work like new again.
