Default 01 GT Vert Vs Chevy Avalanche?

I have a friend who has an 05ish model Chevy Avalanche, she thinks its big and bad and wants to race people. I just bought my 01 GT with the 4.6 and 5 speed. Assuming I shift well, which I pretty much do, and the crankshaft stays in its spot, I should win that race right? The stock Governor on hers should limit it to 99 mph I THINK. She has the horsepower advantage, but I have a stick to keep it in the powerband, and her automatic with stock shifting and that much weight shouldnt be shift-kitted up to be a race truck. Both of ours are bone stock, except for my dual flowmasters. Any opinions otherwise, or should I just go dust her? And realistically, can I? I think my power to weight ratio is there for me.

Yes and no. I already knew the answer, but I wanted affirmation. Idk what the avalanche has in gearing and trans ratios, nor have I done the research, for that one reason. I thought my las Mustang, my 94 5.0 5-speed, 3.73 gears, headers, no cats, flowmasters, would whip a 90s Chevy 1500 LWB with a 350 in it, but he stayed neck and neck for the first little ways, even with pretty darn good shifting on my part. Im assuming his torque multiplication provided by his steeper rear gears allowed him a slight takeoff edge, and wanted to be sure the Avalanche wouldnt have the same sort of advantage. This is to shut someone up, so just had to make sure.

if you feel unsure, nitrous is cheap but not needed. 0 to 100 pull you should put distance between you and her

Then who cares? If you catch yourself admiring it looking back as you walk across a parking lot then you have the right car. Who cares about what some avalanche owner thinks. Avalanches are the pontiac aztek of full size truck like vehicles.
