Replacing suspension parts, OEM or polyurethane?

Replacing suspension parts, OEM or polyurethane?
Greetings, I bought a 99 mustang GT two weeks ago and I want to start working on the suspension parts as all of them are pretty much dried out and cracked (Pic below). I plan to replace the ball joints, end links, inner & outer tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, and the rack & pinion bushings. Most of these I find are available with the polyurethane instead of the rubber bushing.
What are the advantage & disadvantages of polyurethane to the OEM rubber?
Also there is a popping sound when I am bringing the car to a stop and sometimes when I am stopped and turn the wheel, I know it could be one of the parts I am going to replace but any ideas of what else it could be that I didn't mention?
Thanks in advance.

I think the popping comes from the stock strut mounts. You can fix that and gain some adjustability with these:

Replacing suspension parts, OEM or polyurethane?
I recently bought the upr k member, caster camber plates, A arms, coil over kit and bump steer kit. I'm wondering if I should replace all the bushings as well.

Polyurethane gets my vote.
Last longer, stiffer for better performance. Downside to poly is they squeak. I use a spray lubricant on the poly bushings on my Jeep and Mustang about once a year and no squeaking. The other downside is depending on what you are putting them on, it can be a PITA to press them in. Control Arms, Shocks and Swaybars.

Thanks for the info, the rack and pinion seem fine. I will try replacing the strut mount bushing like you recommended and see if that fixes it.
Could you let me know which spray lubricant you use one a year on the poly bushings?

I use synthetic grease and none of my bushings squeak. It's just castrol synthetic grease from Advanced Auto.
