Question SCT X4 Question..

I ordered an SCT X4 from Summit Racing and in the note section on their website it says, "This programmer functions as a standard X4 Power Flash unit with the addition of preset, custom programs specifically designed for Ford Mustangs. When using this programmer in addition to Summit Racing® SCT X4 power flash programmer combos, please follow instructions."

I contacted both SCT and Summit and neither of them can give me a straight answer. I haven't received the scanner yet so I haven't gotten to check for any custom tune folders or anything.

Here's a link to it on their website. Note: I didn't pay full price, I got it for $303.99 because I got them to price match with one I found on Amazon.

What exactly is the question here? I have that same tuner sitting on my desk, but I am not sure what you want to know.

What is Summit referring to in their NOTES description when they say it has custom programs specifically designed for Ford Mustangs? And how are they different than any other program on the tuner from the factory (SCT)?

Is there a different set of tuning programs specifically made for Summit or are they the same as the ones SCT already precans in every tuner they ship put from their factory?

Summit does not write tunes. Which one are you planning on running?

it comes with canned tunes for your mustang, VVVVVVVVVV

CT X4 Power Flash programmers arrive to you pre-loaded with dyno-proven tune files to unlock your vehicle's hidden potential! Programming your vehicle with one of SCT's pre-loaded tune files is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply plug the OBD-II connector into vehicle's OBD-II port, select the pre-loaded tune files using the simple to navigate menu and in minutes the X4 programs your vehicle for your particular driving style.

the rest of that crap in the description, is most likely a summit cut and paste nightmare from sct's literature

I had them do a tune for my old Crown Vic. Didn't notice any difference in it.
