So my car came with a dsg 99-01 Cobra hood and I didn't like it and wrong color, so I went to a junk yard and bought the stock correct hood with the scoop and took it to a friend of mine to have him colormatch and paint it. He sent this me these pics tonight showing me that the passenger side rear is raised up. Said he is going to paint it anyway and mess with the the alignment some other time because he has other customers cars waiting.


Anyone know what is going on here?

Since the other hood was not original, maybe someone shimmed under the hinge to get your old hood to align with the fender.

Do you mean under the part that bolts to the body?

If the fit of the other hood was ok,I think that the hinges are ok.
You might try to adjust the right one,but I'm thinking that the new hood has a twist in it.
Was it mounted when you bought it,( a car not smacked anywhere near the front)or off of the parts car already?

Monday morning quarterbacking,but I suppose that it should have been fitted to the car before doing any paint work on it.

I bought it from a junk yard already removed. The guy did a ****ty job laying down the clear coat on the hood and fenders from where he blended it and Im pissed. Supposed to take it back so he can attempt to fix it but I think Im going to take it elsewhere and see if they can fix it. Im SO PISSED!
