Spark plug/COP blew out...
Hey all. Merging on the expressway last night, heard a pop then what sounded like loud knocking so I pulled over and popped the hood. Found the front driver side spark plug was blown out of the head and the rubber boot was gone and the COP was broken.
I drove about 6 miles to get the car home which I am guessing could have caused more porblems... Have not had a chance to dig into this very much but wanted to know a few things...
Could I have messed the engine up badly?
If the head is stripped what is my best option to get a spark plug back in?
SHould I just replace all 8 now anyway?
Is there a better COP option for my set up since I need to do the work anyway...
Thanks all

had this happen on my friends 2002 gt. had to use a "timesert" repair kit to fix it. basically its a spark plug helicoil kit. doubt the motor is messed up, but if anything got sucked inside the sparkplug hole it could have caused damage. Good luck on the repair, its a real easy fix if you have access to the timesert kit.

Same happened to my car. Bought my own Helicoil kit. Brought Kit to Dealiership.
Ford Dealiership charge for Helicoil kit installation ( $250 ).
And car was drivin about 20 miles after the blow out. No damage. But dealiership does state that they dont warranty anything outside of head replacement, and they dont guarantee the helicoil will hold. It has for 8 months now, no problems.
