Default 8.8" rear end

Hey everyone!
I know this question has probably been beat to death, but I need some clarification. I have done a bit of research, and I am wondering what 8.8 rears will be a direct bolt in for my 1998 mustang GT? The rear blew out a couple days ago, so im desperately trying to find a replacement. Based off my research I have found that most 1994-2004 rear ends will work? Are there any direct bolt in explorer options?
Thank you in advance!

Any 79-04 will bolt in but the 79-93 are 1.5 inches narrower and the 99-04 are 1.5 inches wider. The explorer wont work.

Perhaps easier to replace the broken parts in it?

Thanks for the quick replies and clarification. Unfortunatly replacing the broken parts isn't an option- my friend who is a mechanic said there is to much damage to the housing, and it would just be easier to replace the whole rear end.

You could always grab a '99 - '04 IRS.

nevermind, I did some research. Would be cool, but not a project I want to take on right now! My vehicles all need work haha. As far as carnage pictures go, I will try to upload some pictures in the next couple of days. I would much rather just replace the parts, there is 3.73 gears and some other parts available for $60 in my area. Unfortunately my friend said it would be better if I just find a whole rear end.
