I enjoy reading 666's expertise.Thank you.
It's gotta come out.Bottom line is that the motor is 15 years old,probably has plenty of miles,perhaps an unknown service history.It's more than a one step repair situation,more than just replacing rings.With all of the in and out labor,it's needs a complete rebuild.

agreed, and now is the time to do any upgrades or mods that you have been dreaming about. good luck!
