Default Question regarding intake plenum for 5.4 DOHC swap

So I have my long block on order but I am stuck trying to choose an intake Plenum

I am staying NA (For Now) so any suggestions on what to slap on that bad boy would be helpful

I read about the boss intake 5.0 Coyote intake, but didn't want to get into welding metal to my engine in order to facilitate this swap.

I emailed sullivan to see if their intake kit is still available, but I am also not trying to go nuts on this build. My whole budget is less than 5k from top to bottom.

But I may cancel my long block and go with a used engine to make sure i can get it to work then go for the long block once I see it all together.

Depending on your cylinder head combination there are a couple options out there for you. The first one that comes to mind is the Australian Boss intake manifold similar to the 2000 Cobra R intake manifold. Your other option would be a Sullivan single plane intake manifold, but that may have been discontinued. The Sullivan is ideal for forced induction, but may not be the best for NA depending on your compression ratio, camshafts, etc.

I have also heard of the Boss and Cobra Jet intakes from the Coyote engine working on the 5.4 DOHC but cannot confirm fitment.

Good luck!

I had a C&L plenum and it worked great for the power that I had (279 whp/284rwtq). Accufab works well also but its kinda costly.

If youre 4v like im thinking, go with the boss intake. There are adapters being made.

Are adapters being made?

That would rock, I just updated my original post as I decided I am going to cencel my long block and just buy a running used engine on the cheap to figure it all out, then when I get it installed and running, go buy the long block and do it with flare.

Already have my 4.6L and TR3650 trans out of the car, so it is off and running.

What size throttle body are they using?

The one on the page is out of stock. So I am trying to find something to make it all work

Also, I wonder if those adapters would work with a cobra Jet intake?
