Rack and pinion hose fitting issue

Rack and pinion hose fitting issue
Hi All,
Well I decided to replace the headers on my 2003 GT and while doing that I decided that I needed to replace the rack and pinion as well. I've run into a problem. The re-manufactured rack is identical to the one I'm replacing but the new hoses wont fit. It appears that the older hoses (which fit new rack but had small leaks) are 9/16 and the new hoses are all 5/8. Has anyone encountered this issue and if so how was it fixed?
Thanks,
Jeff

Welcome.
Since I see that no one else has responded,I'll suggest taking it up with the rack vendor.
I would think that Ford mfg hoses would be right.(Your new ones are aftermarket, right?)Otherwise, you might need to have new hoses custom made, though that seems excessive for such a common car.
