A/C clutch rapid cycling

A/C clutch rapid cycling
Working with a 2003 automatic GT and I have never dealt with an A/C system before. Just had my compressor, lines, and drier replaced with all new stuff. A reputable shop did the work. The system was flushed, vacuum pulled, and new refrigerant was added. At idle, the compressor runs like normal; however, when I start accelerating (or just a steady run at around 1,500+ RPMS) the clutch will cycle on almost every second (literally, 1 second intervals). This occurs with all settings that involve the compressor and while coasting. In stop-and-go traffic (with a short burst of acceleration) the clutch cycles fast but goes back to normal once I stop. I have only been able to get the rapid cycling to happen once after I have parked, but I have not been able to repeat this...yet.
If it matters, the system continues to produce cold air, regardless of the cycle speed.

It sounds like it's running like it should. A good system does not need to stay 'on' all the time. It cycles as needed. Plus with how cold it is in most parts, it won't need to stay on much anyways.
You can try to see if you can keep it 'on' by setting to it MAX cold and turning the recirculation on and blasting the blower at its highest setting. That usually forces the system to a constant 'on' state.
Or, take it back to the shop and ask them to verify it's working correctly.
