Default V6 ABS module on a GT?

I have a 99 GT that I bought last year and driven for about 2k miles without any problems.

I believe the control module is bad because I check to make sure my wheel sensors are good. My module has a sticker on the front that says " V6 traction " but my car is a V8.

Does anyone know if that's what would have came with the car or maybe the last owner swap out a "GT traction" module with a V6?

Im a bit confused because my abs and traction control worked fine until the light came on.

I think that there are only two modules. One for ABS,and one for ABS with TC. The engine size doesn't matter.
The light issue is common with Mustangs. My 04 has it.Threads can be found here relating to it.I also believe that my issue is module related.A scan tool won't communicate with the module. That would be your next step in determining if the cause is the module or wheel sensor.

I see, I figured it was the module from a few post here by swapping the left to right sensor to see if the code followed it and checked the wire for breaks. So I understand clearly, you believe if mine says "V6 traction" it doesn't matter that my car is a V8? If this one is not repairable a "GT traction" should work?

Rock auto shows the same part number for v6 and v8.(Reman-both out of stock)I think that you have to stick with the same type, meaning a TC version won't work in a car with only ABS.

Thanks bro, would have replaced with the proper module if this wasn't suppose to be on the car. I'll go ahead and have mine rebuilt.
