Default Performance Question

I have a 1996 mustang cobra svt. I was told that if I remover my upper intake that there is a plate that I can remove that would allow my engine to get better or more air flow. Is this true and if so does it give me a better performance.

Thank you

IMRC delete is what they are referring to. They are prone to sticking and controller failure.

They are there to assist in low end performance. First thing you should do is install at least 4.10s gears, then removing them will not even be noticed. It wont necessarily add more power, but when deleted and a proper tune installed it can free up a few ponies.

Not sure of your mod list, but if the car is stock you need to do these things, and you will have a 12 second car. Underdrive pullies, drop in K&N filter, offroad mid pipe, and 4.10 gears. I've had 2 98 cobras with those mods and both went into the 12s at almost 110mph
