Default P0171 FREAKIN HELP

have p0171, sputtering through out the rpm's, one back fire on start up resulting in engine shut down, I can unplug any of the passenger side coils barely any difference, can smell a lot of gas. thinking since I can smell gas in the exhaust must be a crack in manifold? no p0174, unplugging any passenger side plug seems to make hardly if any difference in stuttering but unplug a driver and it is noticeable so driver side seems to be ok. ideas?

it may be that your tps is bad, when the tps goes bad most of the time they tend to stick open ,

heres some info on what to look for and how to test yours
Code:
http://www.freeasestudyguides.com/throttle-position-sensor.html
if thats not the problem then it may be a leaking manifold gasket

heres a few common causes of that code

CAUSE 1: PCV Tube's rubber elbow (where it connects to the intake manifold) is torn open and causing a major vacuum leak.
CAUSE 2: intake manifold gaskets that are leaking vacuum.
CAUSE 3: fuel pump that's going BAD, but hasn't completely fried yet.
CAUSE 4: A dirty (contaminated) MAF sensor.
CAUSE 5: An exhaust leak right before the pre-catalytic converter oxygen sensors.
CAUSE 6: BAD pre-catalytic converter oxygen sensor.

I'm thinking that I must have a crack in the manifold or bad gasket, it's running realy crazy... is there a diy way to blow smoke in to intake to spot the leak??? I don't think I can blow that much threw a cig and I just quit hehe. I have had a cracked manifold b4 and it sounds similar just not as bad as last time.

I took the intake off to the manifold and it looks to me like I have oil leading in to the TB from passenger side vacuum hose, and it is pulling in the manifold this might not be THE problem but it could be a factor.... so I'm guessing I need to replace all my gaskets? including head covers

I would definitley check your O2 sensors - cheapest / easiest thing first.

Most likely vacuum leak. Check all hoses going to/from intake. Usually intake/gaskets going bad

They do, and they can be reused, however you need to examine the rubber very well make sure there are no tears or folds in the rubber. I think you can get Fel-Pros for like $20.00

whenever you remove the intake, its always wise to use new gaskets... regardless if they are re-usable or not

I agree with you, especially when they are not that expensive.
