If i recall correctly in one of your posts you purchased a stroker kit, I could be wrong but i think all strokers need some block clearance, mostly for connecting rods but i would imagine you may need to do it for the crank as well.

well I found multiple spots that needed to be shaved off not just for the crank clearance but spots that had random leftover metal never shaved off from factory. I currently am shaving these areas with a few different air tools.

if its a stroker, the block will need to be clearanced. the real people to ask would be mmr.

they closed today or I would. I got it, there where 7 spots that had to have about 1/8th inch removed and also a few spots that just metal chips hanging in the block that cause some issues had to touch that up look like it was just bad spots from block being made.

I had no clearance problems with my mmr stroker kit. Did you buy a kit or just the crank?

whole kit . there are already noticeable grind marks on the block just from factory I'm guessing. I had to add a1/8 inch to all of those marks as well as a lil bit off #5 oil feed where it connects down at block.

I really feel like 2002 was fords "lets clear out the trash " year I have early removable cam sprockets (there is 100 spent I didn't need to) 02 was meant to have welded. I have 2 bolt in block 2 bolt outside block crank caps was told I would have 4 in 2 out. had the 19lb injectors. they also only made GT that year no cobra's or anything else.

I know better than to mess with crank =)

01.5+ have bolt on cam sprockets, only 03-04 cobras had 4 bolt main romeo blocks. 03 was the first year to get 21lbs injectors.

Was the crank hitting the block or the rods?

crank. haven't even ben able to connect rods I couldn't even make 1/8th turn and it would hit and everytime I kept finding new spots it hit right now I got my father inlaw finishing up where I left off while I watch kids. I hope tonight to have a working small block.
