Default 99 gt automatic transmission issues

Hey guys I have a auto 99 gt and I'm experiencing some issues with the tranny. I'm thinking it might be the torque converter but would like to hear some input and opinions, hopefully I can find a cheaper fix!

I checked my fluid it's a little brown but not very dark, and it's not shiny either so I'm assuming that's a good sign.

Anyways the issue I'm having is the car will shift pretty hard into 4th regardless of the cars temp. When I first start the car and drive around for about 5 minutes shifts 1-3 are great but 4th is always a little rough. Then it's warmed up all the shifts start to be a little rough with 4th still being the most able noticeable shift. I did experience a bit of a shudder around 40 mph about a week ago but it's yet to return

Thinking about changing the fluid asap, but other than that is there anything else I can do to try and fix the issue?

you can always change the fluid and see, but if that doesnt remedy your concern the only other thing you can do is pull the trans and disassemble, you will no doubt find worn parts.

Could be a problem with the OD/4th servo, like a bad spring.
