I recently picked up this 2002 Mustang, it doesn't have any mufflers on it, Its a little loud for me, any suggestions on mufflers? I don't want them to interfere with my ground clearance

Amy suggestions

So are there still pipes after the mid pipe or is the exhaust basically the stock manifolds and mid pipe only? Because if it has the rest of the pipes and just the mufflers were cut and replaced with more pipes then you could possibly get mufflers to weld in if you didn't want a new cat back system.

Previous owner had flowmaster mufflers welded on the stock cat back system and I like em.

Ended up going with a set of VT's, great performance muffler, without the major humming noise in the cab

Call me Mr. Old ***** but I like the oem GT mufflers. They purr at idle and have a nice note at full song with no highway drone.

I have the Dynomax Ultra Flo cat back off summit, which seems to have been removed from the site now. but, its a great tone, not to loud and great price if you can still find it. when i got my gt, the exhaust was all cut up and unbolted so i grabbed this as a cheep bolt on to quite down the super loud open h-pipe, but i really like it. I still have stock headers/ H-pipe , but i am ready to see how it sounds with high flow cats.

Ditto that, though I may be Mr. Pre-historic *****,as I was almost tempted to put Crown Vic mufflers on mine when it was new,as I like quiet and stealthy.(but I like completely original more)(As an 04,it only has one GT badge,so I was also tempted to remove that, and play the sleeper card.)Given my generally low rpm operation, performance wouldn't have been an issue.
