HAHA! Success! It's alive! And man, what a screamer! The difference between the Mark VIII InTech and the Mach I made the swap worth every nickel.
It was pretty straight forward but there were a couple of mouse turds that needed leaping over. The biggest was the flex plate. I figured that I would use the one off of the Lincoln but that is only a 6 bolt flex plate and the engine was out of a standard engine car so it has the 8 bolt crank. From what I learned, it turns out that the only 8 bolt automatic flex plate is out of the 03-04 Cobra since there were no 8 bolt automatic Mach's.
I have scored a couple of Mach I hoods and shaker setups at a good price so I'll pick the best pieces out of both setups and use them and either sell the other set or use if for wall art in the garage for 20 years and sell it for one billion dollars when I'm older than hell and drooling in my jello. Muwhahahaha!

Update: The car goes to paint today so in a couple weeks I should have her back.
Here is a picture of the new power plant installed with the shaker just kind of sitting there and not properly installed. Still fap worthy though.
As big as the improvement was going from the SOHC to the Lincoln DOHC was, the upgrade from the Lincoln to the Mach motor is equally as impressive a leap forward.
There are still a couple little niggly problems that need to be addressed but all in good time.

Yep. I am keeping the stock exhaust because I do like the way it sounds.
Total spent...well, let's see..
$3000 for the engine and ECU
$600 for a factory Mach I hood and shaker setup. That was a sweet score.
$130.00 to have the ECU reprogrammed for my keys.
$500.00 to my buddy for helping me and using his shop lift etc.
and I'm sure I'm forgetting some things so, I'll call it $4500+- for the engine swap.
I sold my Lincoln InTech motor for 350.00 and the cobra manifolds for another $100 so after you subtract that, I'm back down around 4k.
