Default PI swap worth it or not

I'm looking into doing a PI swap for my 96 GT a mecahnic told me it would add about 60 hp, I am not sure how accurate he is on that and I am wonderin for the 1,500+ pricetag how much HP would I gain and would it be worth it?

You will see 60 HP or so from it... definitely worth the money. You shouldn't need to use 91 octane gas because the 99+ GTs have 10.1:1 and only require 87 octane... Anyone who has done the PI swap commment on this?

look coming to u first hand i have the same car and my pi swap is in a very slow prgress... i will definately complete it for the fact that its one of the most power gaining mods for the price with the right cam setup u can easily see an extra 75-80 hp plus what sounds meaner than a cammed 4.6 flowing through a set of two chamber flowmasters?

No, 99+ do not have 10:1 cr, they have 9.4:1, PI heads have 47cc combustion cambers, and 17cc pistons. NPI heads have 52cc heads and 15cc pistons so the Npi pistons + PI heads = 10.5: CR

Yes that is correct, 10.5 comp. YOu have to use atleast 91 octane. Its only worth it if you want some decent power in your 96-98 mustang. But if you dont care about perfermance its not worth it.

Yeah I'm looking for a PI swap too. I already know what I need to know about it, I just need to find the cheapest kit out there. Anyone have any suggestions?

i think if we had the money, we wouldn't buy stock parts to swap....

anyways, the pi swap is definitely worth it but the labor will cost the most, usually the same as or more than the price of the parts. there is a complete kit with brand new parts from ford on ebay with everything you need, even the heater hose and alt. brackets, and etc..... but it runs you $1,350 plus 800-1000 in labor = pricey.

btw i have a set of complete 2000 gt heads with valve covers, cams, etc and the pi intake man. with the aluminum crossover for sale if anyone is interested. just give me a pm. im selling it because i realized that im 17 and dont have a job and the money i had saved up wasnt enough to complete the job so i'd have all the parts sitting here but no money for install.

I realize that... I was kidding. But, you can pick up a set from a junkyard for about 300-600 bucks. Then all you wil have to do is buy new gaskets and studs and whatnot... Juts gotta pull it yourself... Seriously hit up a junkyard and see if you can snag a morot from a totalled 99+ GT. I passed on a 300 dollar motor from an '01 cause i didn't have the cash to swap the parts. If I had the 1000 it woudl cost to swap them, I woulda done it!
