I looked into the Strothe (?) harnesses. They have 3 point and 4 point harnesses. A friend of mine has them in his cobra. The front belts hook into the stock mounting points in the back seats and can be detached if necessary, so you can use the back seats. The standard belts stay in the car for that purpose. They also attach at the front mounting points. They say they are dot approved.

I found them at hmsmotorsport or some variation of that. They were about $ 170 each.

Anyone else see these?

I know this already said but I'll say it again. Unless you have a roll bar,a harness is not a good idea. 1. If the shoulder straps are not parallel to the floor of the car and you hit somthing, you will either compress your spine or break you collar bones. 2. In a rollover you stand a good chance of being crushed. Like anything else the harnesses are desighned to work as part of a system, with out all the correct parts they don't work right. Why even bother with them? Your stock seat belts are fine, if you put a roll bar in then you can look into a harness.

Joey D... why do you need your back seat so badly?? I hated it. Its worthless. I think a sports car should only be a 2 seater. You should buy a rear seat delete. I bought one off of ebay for $50 shipped to me.

If you need a harness to hold you in place in the turns. I HIGHLY suggest buying a racing shell seat for the ultimate holding ability, Or a racing seat that reclines. The stock seats have NO lateral support. I used to slide all over the place, I would have to have my elbow on the center console to keep myself in place in turns. Thats not safe at all, first off I only have one hand on the wheel and secondly I am concentrating on driving and concentrating on not sliding out of my seat. The stock seat belt still doesnt hold me in at all! With my seat I have even wear no seat belt, take a "G" lateral turn with both hands on the wheel with no effort to try to keep myself from moving. I am glued to my car. I am one with my car. If your into the twistys a racing seat should be on the top of your list to buy, it has improved my drving by 10x!!

Next I am buying an autopower, it has bolt in cross brace and horazontal brace, is you can take one or both out if you like. Then a sparco 4 point harness. Then a sparco smaller racing steering wheel, and spacers to get the wheel closer to me. Also keep in mind the 3" harness's are illegal to use on the street, you can only use the 2" belts. Stupid law, but I was suprised when I found out also. But I dont think any cop will know that or bother you with that. But just a heads up.

^wow thanks for all the info. amazing knowledge...
appreciate it.

Yeah, im not running the times where I HAVE TO HAVE THEM or even NEED TO HAVE THEM.

its just I wanted them for of course the safety and also the looks...
I think they look good in a car... my car is screaming yellow and I wanted some yellow ones inside.

So Yeah I am looking into all the options you have stated...

and yes I agree.... if I'm going to get them- I should do it right and get the roll cage so everything works together proper.

Thanks!
