Default Oil Cooler leak/ please help

I'm sorry I keep breaking weird stuff on my car, but one day I'll be able to repay this forum for their kindness by answering these kinds of questions.

Here we go, I have a leak from my oil cooler on my 98 GT 4.6. I took it in for a scheduled oil change in my home town on leave and they screwed the filter on so tight I had to crush it to get it off. So I put a nice, new shiny filter on and it leaked. So I cinched it down and, it still leaks. So I got under it and my oil cooler is leaking at the oil cooler gasket. Sounds pretty straight forward, it may be leaking where the oil filter adaptor bolts to the oil cooler, or where it bolts to the engine block. Anybody ever replaced this before??? Anyone???

Thanks again guys and gals.

Adam

Thanks, what I'd really like is an exploded view of this and some pointers. That way I can have a game plan before I have a wrench in hand.

That's a lotta cars. How can one man maintain so many?

Holy crap, I'm an idiot. Here's the problem, when I took off the overly tight filter I unthreaded the bolt that the oil filter threads onto. So I had to get a 13mm bolt and a pair of Vise Grips and torque it back down. Now, it didn't leak on the 19mi trip back home from the shop.

I got that tip from the Shop Forman at Titus-Will Ford in Tacoma, WA.
