Default cold air intake suggestio

Sean, I got the kit as a b-day present, but I did know that it was made out of ABS plastic. The plastic supposedly doesn't get as hot as the metal cold air kits do, therefore cooler air and more power. Did you see the cold air induction test in 5.0 mag a couple of months ago? I know that they tested the kits on a 03' Cobra which is s/c, so the HP numbers were larger than they would be for a GT, but the Densecharger kit made by far the best power.

Yea I seen it. I actually talked to Demolet himself and he was the one that sold me on it along with some ngk iridium spark plugs. I actually wanted the denso but he said to go with the ngk, very nice and helpful guy.I do agree that the ABS does not conduct as much heat as the other metal intakes. I was just saying that by going to the plumbing department and picking the parts ourselves it would be really cheap to make.

The plastic ones are bs compared to steel...except weight savings.

The air is moving so fast into the engine that it doesn't have time to pick up even 1F travling through the piping. It's all in where you draw the air from.

Not to start any sh*t but then how is it that intercoolers on turbos and superchargers make such a difference in horsepower? And the air is actually moving faster with forced induction as opposed to n/a hence the increase in horsepower

The reason that intercoolers (or aftercoolers) make the difference is just with the matter of compressed air, it gets hot.

When you have 250+ degree intake temperatures, and run it through a high flow radiator in ambient sub 90F temperatures, it makes quite a difference.

When you suck up air from the engine bay that's oh, say 160F, a tube that's like, 170F isn't going to change anything.

True, but I say if it posts higher #'s on the dyno then it should not be false. Any how if it is not much difference I will look into a nice chrome one, because in all honesty the densecharger is not to attractive.Wait a minute what am I thinking it is time for booosssst!

What you're looking at on they dyno really doesn't amount to anything.

I'd like to see dynos of the same exact intake design, but one made of plastic, the other of metal. I bet it wouldn't be able to register the difference.
