I hear alot of you telling young kids to get a v6 or they will be paying alot on insurance with a GT. So what do you guys pay for insurance and how old are you?
I'll start
I'm only 20 and I only pay 166.00 a month for full coverage.

A few things to consider:
Age
What types of coverage (collision or comprehensive or liability)A
Amount of coverages (medical, disability, personal property yadda yadda)
Deductible
Case in point. My oldest when she turns 16 (in 8 months) on my 00 V6.
With identical coverage as what I have now... $1600 for 6 months (Costs me $750)
With minimum coverage on all the items and a $1000 deductible vs my $500, it would only cost $875 for her per 6 months. That's a difference of over $700 for the same car...

RE: Insurance???
I am 21 married in Atlanta and I pay $167.33 a month for my 1996 gt. Could have got an 02 V6 for $3.00 more. But, not long ago i see that insurance, however much can be worth it, when my friends ls1 z28 was stolen and they took the ls1. Insurance gave him his car back and almost $4000 to get a engine put in. He only spent $1200 on the used engine and used the rest to beef it. Those things fly when you put $2500 in them. Kinda made me wonder what I would get if my engine was "stolen". lol

RE: Insurance???
I pay $65 a month for liability. I believe full coverage was an extra $35.
I’m 30, good driving record, Miami area.
Believe it or not, the 96 GT is less expensive to insure than my previous car which was a 1986 towncar.
I was surprised... I thought my insurance was going to increase for sure.
Now after my car narrowly escaped hurricane Wilma, I think about the full coverage.

RE: Insurance???
until there 21 the car is covered under parents name, so it wont be a huge difference. a gt and a mach were barely different for me since my main car is a grand am gt even though i never drive it and i only drive the mach
