Default URGENT 96 mustang white smoke

Hey guys, I'm here from Detroit Michigan, and I have only had my 96 GT since June and it has always ran good. Its all stock but some instances it had a weak start especially when the tempature drops (yea i know, its michigan weather). But this morning I started it up to leave (hadn't started it in a day) and a really nice amount of WHITE SMOKE came out the tail pipes, but after that it was running fine and no more WHITE SMOKE. Anybody can help with what problem might be creeping up?[&:]

could just be the valve seals. its not uncommon for a car with a few miles on it to start smoking on startup.

If you want to find out what the smoke is,stand behind the car and have someone start the engine. You can tell if it's coolant or oil smoke by how it smells.

Oil usually has a somewhat of a blue tint to it.

Lol, thats pretty normal, happens to me when I don't start my car for a weekend or something... especially when its this cold out.
Not a TON of white smoke, but yea there is some.

Do yourself a favor and rev the engine in this kind of temperature, then look out your rear view mirror, you will see the smoke
Its just because the engine is so hot and the air is so cold, it happens.

That's condesation and evaporation... Water that evaporates from your tailpipes on a cold morning and condesation, hot gases hit cold air. Like when you breath out on a cold day and smoke comes out of your mouth. Coolant level stable or dropping over time? Stable? Don't worry about anything. Dropping? Could be a leaking head gasket.

I live 40mi. out of Detroit and in the cold I get white steam out the pipes too. More when the engine is warming up. But if it happens when it is warm out after every start up then it may be a head gasket. But for now I wouldn't worry.

Okay here is some more info guys, I have been having to put coolant in my 96 GT from time to time, like maybe every month about 2 or 3 cups. Also, I am nearing the 65K mark as far as how many miles are on it and it only did the WHITE SMOKE thing once, it also idles kinda irregular but I never had a V8 so maybe not.. Sounds like I should make sure my 84 Olds 98 is running for the winter so i can start driving it.

Also, I hear when I put the GT up I should give it some fuel stabilizer, an oil change, and roll the car out every month to make sure the tires don't go flat, right?
