I wasn't trying to start another argument, I personally would not buy used gears for the simple fact that new gears cost around 180 and installation costs around 200-250, if you get 'lucky' and buy used gears for $50 and they whine you lose money in the long run. I bought a used shifter, and I think 5 minutes after installation it was the same as a new shifter, only I had $150 in my pocket. My question is what other mods are usually good buys when used. We all want to make our Mustangs as fast as possible and most of us are on strict budgets so what are really good buys?

Depends on where you get it. If the parts was put on correctly and not abused is fine to buy used. Usually any CAI, tb/plenum would be fine to buy. I wasnt arguing with NAthansmith, I was just stating my side of the story.

Well alright blackbetty, that about sums it up. Youve got peepz with used gears, s/c, intake parts. If U got the money, sure go and buy ur stuff brand spankin new. If ur on a budget, get some GOOD(keyword) used parts.

because you can get brand new ones for 160. the savings isn't worth it.
I dont you about you bro, but $100 is worth the saving for a college student!

with gears there is a good chance they were abused......and they may look just fine but the metal could be weakend or cracked and you'd never know.
