Default 4.10 w/ Supercharger

Hey everyone, i am getting an 03 GT and am wondering whether 4.10 rear end gears will be horrible to have on when i decide to go turbocharged or supercharged. i have heard that for the 4.6L that 4.10 are great and really bring the life out of the engine. But i don't know how the power adder would react with 4.10 on. what do you guys think?

I am thinking about doing the same thing. What I have heard, and this seems to coincide with what Jugador says, is that 4.10's make the un-supercharged seem like adding 50hp - which is great! But when it's supercharged the car does not need lower gearing -it actually would do better with the taller gearing. I'm very new to all this so please correct me if I'm wrong. But, the way I figure I'm going to get the 4.10's, enjoy the car that way for a year or two until I'm ready to get the supercharger and then switch back to the taller gears. After all, what's 200 bucks more to switch back the gears compared to 4+ grand that the supercharger will cost? Seems worth it to me to buy the gears and enjoy the car amap until then.

Your question seems to be 'should you get the gears now along with the supercharger' - so I gues that would be no - keep the taller gears. Anyone, anyone...

how does that coincide with what i'm saying? i'm saying (with 4.10's and supercharged) you'll go through first so fast it will barely be usable (meaning you should get a taller [numerically lower] gear which is exactly what you said).

well what about if the mustang i decide to turbocharge wont i have lag till a certain point so wont 4.10 be good for that first go at the line. well most likely if i do decide to supercharge/turbocharge it wont be for a while so i guess i'll do what toplessmustang said. i mean i would like to enjoy my mustang till i decide to get a power-adder.

Yea. with boost you run out of gear way to fast. #;73 or 3:55s are great for high hp.

Yea! You know it really depends on what else you got. But with a S/C you'll feel a difference.
