Engine hoist bolt locations

Engine hoist bolt locations
I am trying to put my longtube headers in. I can not jack up my engine high enough with just a car jack. I have an engine hoist with an engine sling which will adjust uneven weight. But it has four bolt locations. Does anyone know where to bolt the sling up to be able to lift up the motor and trans? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We lift ours from the front right and the rear left intake bolt. Get some good grade 8 bolts and dont use the intake bolts though because they will bend while lifting the engine and you wont be able to use them again.

The intake bolts look way to small, also I feel sketchy about pulling up on a bolt, and relying on the threads to hold it. Has it been done before, to pull the motor and trans? I was thinking the bolts in the timing cover, but I dont know which bolts to use in the back, I can hardly see back there.

what i do to jack up motors is to wrap a tow strap around the bottom and then attach it to the hoist... works liek a champ.. but it wont work if your changing the headers.

I dont want to be a pain, but I just want to make sure if it would be safe to lift from the valva cover bolts. I dont want to go buy new bolts for the intake manifold, I cant find any bolts harder than a 8.8 grade anyways. I dont want to bolts breaking off in the block, and come crashing down. Sorry to be pain but I just need to make sure.

Intake manifold with the upper plennum removed and a 'bracket' that even spreads the tension between all the bolts - probably have to fab a plate for that to work on a FI car as it works best on Carbureted cars with metal intakes (not plastic)
Heads using bolts you will be discarding
Any hooks or brackets (alternator bracket) that are bolted to the block itself
Sometimes there are threaded holes on the head that can be used or you can attach hooks to for just this purpose.

I was going to answer based on 5.0 but now I see you sold it and now have a 4.6.
I have not had to do this on my 4.6 yet. On the 5.0 I use longer bolts in top bellhousing holes and front of the heads.
