I have the BBK aluminum CAI-fenderwell.It is great. Looks good also compared with FPIK from K&N which is all plastic crap. The best induction is made by the air in the intake, not by plastic or metal.

What I meant was..does plastic disperse heat better than aluminum or chromed metal?

Or does it realy matter?

Sorry, what does CAI "fenderwell" mean? (does it mean the air filter isoutside the fenderwell?)

Is this the BBK you have?

Plastic or chrome does not matter...people will tell you the chromed one will get hot, thats untrue. Yes, thas the one I have, and the filter goes in the fenderwell where the air is cooler. Get it now!!

The filter runs out of the fenderwell away from the heat of the engine...it ends up in a channel between the fenderwell and the fender and quarterpanel...cold air comes in from infront of the vehicle and into the channel where the air filter is. From what I can tell its in a position that makesvery hard for water to get up to it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
