Default Check Engine Light.

OK, I put BBK longtube headers and a BBK shorty x-pipe with cats on. I started my car about 5 times and ran it fine, then one of the times I started it the check engine light came on. Is this because the 02 sensors have moved much further down? I thought the check engine light only came on for people with off-road mid pipes?

Did you pull the error codes?

If the code is just pertaining to one O2 sensor, it is possible that sensor bacame damaged the your x-pipe was installed.

I had the same problem when I did my LT's. I had to replace my o2's.

So since I have catts, my check engine light should not be on? That is if my check engine light is because of my 02 sensors.

I did go over a speed bump and it caused the x-pipe's flange on the passenger side to slip off the x-pipe and disconnect. That may have damaged one or both of the 02 sensors. But I think that was after the light had come on.

Could just replace them to be on the safe side. Or get a set of MIL elim's, then you will never have to worry about it. [&:]

When you get the tuner just turn the O2's off. I have heard people say that numerous times with aftermarket cats that the engine light will come on and off. I turned mine off when I put my exaust on without even seeing if it would work.

But if I turn my 02 sensors of doesnt that mean that my car is going to run to riche. I remember reading when your 02 sensors arent working your computer delivers fuel as if you were in Wide open throttle.

You ONLY want to turn the back 2 off.
