Default Well, Its over (Update)!!!

Thought I would let you know... I am now "touching my motor"

I was basically running 13.7's all night before. (knew I had a little more in me)
this weekend I was running 13.6's (most are high 6's, a few mid)
with the following mods... (NOTHING MORE... even have a STOCK AIR FILTER)
Tuner ($399.00) MOST EXPENSIVE MOD LOL
Steeda LC Arms ($290.00) - Self Install
FRRP 4.30 Gears ($175.00) -Self Install
17x10.5 deep dish wheels in the back ($125.00 each)=$250 total Free Install
315/35/17 BFG Drag Radials in back ($155.00 each)=$310 total Free Install
TOTAL spent= $1,425.00 the Diablo Tuner jacked the price up.
and I run 13'6s
OH YES AND I AM AN AUTO TRANNY.

and I figured- that WAS IT. that was the best I could get with what I had so I P&P'd my new tb and plen. (bbk powerplus) and put it on along with my K&N...So now I will make runs with these mods and get it down to where I feel its the BEST it can do. and then I will move along with my next mods.

I believe I am doing this the RIGHT WAY... not to put anyone down who FIRST THING... threw on exhaust and CAI etc...
what I notice a lot of people do on here is Gears, CAI, Exhaust - First mods.

and I beat a bunch of GT's out at the track that have EXHAUST, INTAKE etc...
one guy has SLP Loudmouth 2's- Xpipe, Accufab Plen, BBK TB, Tune, Eibach Lwr Springs,
and I take him everytime in the 1/4... hes running high 13's like 13.9 soemtimes 13.8's

So just thought I would tell you STAGE 1 of my reports/project is over...ending with a 13.6 (very respectable) and many kills on the streets.

next update:
Will share times of what I am running now with my...
PLEN,TB and K&N CAI.

OH PS: What times are you running/what mods(money invested) do you have?
Id like to see someone running lower/with me.... with that little invested(both money and mods) in your GT.
(oh yeah... HAS TO BE NEW PARTS... b/c of course you can buy used ones for less)

I was running 13.8@104, on stock suspension and stock goodyears.

With 4.10 gears, frpp shorties, x-pipe & Magnapacks, MAF only in my 02 GT 5 speed.

Launching alittle over 2,000 rpms.

Inspection raped me, but I put the car back together with 4.30's, h-pipe, flowmasters, march UDP's, MAF and never made it back to the track...

Well currently, I'm running terrible. I have an 00 vert which adds weight and my tires get 0 traction. Plus the track isn't prepped very well. This all equates to high 60's. Best 60 i can pull is a 2.2 and a 14.6 at 98 mph. After christmas i will be going deeper into my pockets and working out some of these traction kinks. Also have a predator tuner in the mail, and short tube headers and o/r x which i have not installed yet.

Self install on the gears?! Was it difficult?!!? I always heard it's best to take it to a mechanic.

^Yeah self install on the gears... My friend has the Hydraulic Press etc...(He is very good mechanic)
was me and my Friend that did the gears. (still free tho)
plus I have all the tools, yada yada.
So no it wasn't bad.

but yes for most people its best to take it to a shop for sure.

Dan that is Solid..., yeah TRACTION TRACTION TRACTION.
with my stock goodyears and stock suspension- yeah I was getting sideways at launch's
and it was just insaine... I was launching at about 1,100K rpms and would just get sideways etc.
So yeah its all about GETTING IT TO THE WHEELS. for sure.

matt aren't you getting an ls1 F-Body? (*drools*)

I was having problems with wheel hopping, took dropping the pressure, spare, jack, 1/4 gas and some ice to get down to 13.8@104.

Took atleast 25 runs before I broke 13.8, powershifting 3rd-4th too.

Md 13's is quite impressive. There was a guy in line with me with an 05 at the strip saying his best time was 13.5 and didn't even get into the 13's this particular day. My car was nowhere near 13's but I had stock gears then. Are you running a custome tune with that Preditor? That 4.30 looks like it's working quite well.

keep in mind that you have drag radials though and they may not, that will help with traction and overall time a lot
