Default stall converter

I have a 2004 mustang gt automatic that is a street/strip car that is daily driven. What is the best stall speed that is good for daily driving.

Thanks
Mike

It all depends on how much HP you are running. Contat one of the manufactures and tell them what you have and what your plans are for your car and they will help you decide what is best for your set-up.

Rule of thumb is whatever you were planning on getting go one up on the stall. I'd say 3200.

3200 on a DD that rarely sees the track, is stupid. Your gas mileage is going to blow @ss. If you are at the track every weekend, or every other weekend, then you will be glad you got it. But, if you go to the track just once in a blue monn for fun and good times but spend most of your time driving the car around town, I would say a 2600 stall would be a better plan. You could always go halfway and meet in the middle with a 2800 stall or something... Just my opinion. I'm planning on getting a convertor myself sometime this next summer. 2600-2800 for me.

Doesn't make sense, the stall converter is separate of the transmission, and I can see how a lower stall could cause a problem, but it wouldn't be with the transmission. A higher stall isn't going to do any harm.

2600 to 2800..I have a 02 supercharged GT and having a new tranny capable of 750 with a 2800 stall. It's also my daily driver that sees the track(when open) every other weekend. Not the best one to explain stall but would love to learn more about it-Shane
