Ok, so for the near to mid future, my goal for my car is jsut to get it consistantly in the high 13's. As of right now, I have Flowmaster cat back, BBK o/r h-pipe, JBA shorties, Mac c.a.i., Pro 5.0 and brand new Motorcraft plugs and wires. I was thinking that when I get the C&l plenum and MAC 70 mm tb, 3:73's(b/c I do a lot of highway driving), and Steeda upd's I should be into the 13's. Am I right do you think? Please post what you guys think would get me into the 13's if it isnt what I put down. Thanks, anything helps!

RE: Will I be in the 13's?
Honestly i think u can do it right now if u had diff tires....the stock wheel and tires really hurt 1/4 mile times. I have a 01 roush stage II (suspension, wheels + tires, blah blah blah) and before i put in headers and other mods i just had an accufab 75mm tb and a densecharger cai. Now somehow i pulled a 13.92, 13.99, and finally a 13.98 outta my *** down at raceway park in nj back in may...so i def think u'd be able to top that if u had tires and were good at launching, and shifting, and so on.....in fact, what was yout reaction time???? and what times have u been able to pull????

yeah thats what I was thinking too. I have never actually ran my car on the track yet. But as far as tires go.....do you think that a pair of wider street tires....say a 305 or 295 would cut it? Or would I have to go with some kind of DR? What is the best and most inexpensive DR on the market right now? Also, what should I launch at? Something like 3500?

Lol, I overlooked that. If you launch at 3500 rpms on regular street tires, you will run a high 16. Trust me, I've done it and I have a 2000 GT. Launch at 1500 or lower. I didn't get too much spin launching at that.

Well hey, im just asking advice for when I do go to the track. I mean I have raced a lot....im 18 and for how old I am I would say I have some knowledge. I usually launch at 1700 or so when i race and I usually just get a wee bit of spin ad hook up, depending on the road and conditions some times just a chirp and hook up. But you know, I just am asking advice of my elders lol and the veterans.

Yes. I believe with some suspension work ppl are launching at 4500 rpms on drag radials.
