The end all CAMS thread for 99-04 2V's
I know alot of peeps have been asking about cams lately, so here ya go.
For a nice jump in #'s on a bolt on 2V, go with Stage 1 cams. In order to see the full potential of larger cams a 2V 4.6 needs to rev higher than the stock shortblock will allow. Also, for larger cams a better intake and good flowing heads are needed. Cams larger than Stage 1's start pulling in the 3500rpm range and pull up around 6700rpms.
So, in summary...if you stay with a stock shortblock and want a solid high 12 second car, get Stage 1 cams, intake plenum, 75mm TB, long tube headers, good mid pipe, 4.10's, upper/lower CA's.

Thanks man, good info. I'm probably one of those guys your talking about, I am really torn between stage 1's and 2's, but I'm leaning toward 1's. With a dry 75 shot of nitrous and those following mods, what would i run? Low 12's??
